Eyes water,
Hands tremble,
Knees buckle,
Heart cries out with fear, apprehension
These feet which once danced with
Joy, zest
Now drag a step of hours, too dear
The world stopped as he spoke,
As he held her hands
Setting her heart a-flutter
His every touch alighted on her
Soft as the wind
But setting off a sense of pleasure
So great, so pure
Only her heart understood
Was hers, alone
She had to let go
With a heart as heavy
As boulders
She knew
She was not alone
The other half of her being
Was no less hurting
Mellow, mellow
